Can I try a dress on before hiring it?
Yes! Local customers can book pick-up try-ons. We don't currently offer postal try-ons.
What happens if my dress doesn't fit?
Sizing issues are non-refundable, so please check the garment’s measurements and recommended fit before booking. If you’re unsure, contact us for additional measurements or information. For local orders, swaps may be available if another garment is available.
What happens if I damage the dress?
Please contact us immediately. Depending on the damage, repair or replacement costs may apply in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. Don't panic and don't try to remove or repair anything yourself.
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes, if your garment hasn’t been collected or dispatched, you’ll receive a full store credit plus a refund of any shipping costs. Once it has been collected or dispatched, refunds or store credits are not available.
What if my parcel is delayed?
Unfortunately courier delays can happen and are outside of our control. If your order doesn’t arrive in time for your event due to a NZ Post delay, we’ll assess the situation individually. In most cases, a refund will be issued for the rental cost, excluding postage, provided the garment has not been worn and returned in the arranged time.
Can I change my rental dates after booking?
Yes, however is subject to availability. Contact us as soon as possible.
Can I hire for more than one day?
Our standard hire includes your event date and the following business day for return. Additional rental days must be approved by us beforehand.

Where and when is pick up?
We are located in Rolleston, Christchurch and offer local collection.
For weekend events, local pickups are available from Wednesday to Friday.
For weekday events, pickups are generally available 1–3 days before your event date.
Pick up details are provided along with the collection email.
When will my order be sent?
All postal orders are sent with overnight delivery. You will be emailed your tracking number, please monitor this.
Friday and weekend events, orders will be sent out Monday-Wednesday, and rarely Thursday.
Weekday events will be sent out 2-5 days prior.
We highly recommend using an address that is non rural to better avoid any delays.
Do I need to clean the garment?
No, please leave all cleaning to us as some garments need specific cleaning. Minor staining majority of the time can be handled by us and is included in the hire price, however major staining where extra cleaning products are used or a dry cleaning service you will be charged extra.
When and how do I return the garment?
All local garments must be returned by 6:00pm on the next business day following your event, unless a different return time has been specifically agreed with Boutique Brags. The return deadline stated on your thank-you card will confirm the applicable return time for your booking.
All postal garments must be returned by 3:00pm on the following business day, unless a different return time has been specifically agreed with Boutique Brags or the return date is affected by a weekend or public holiday. The return deadline stated on your thank-you card will confirm the applicable return time for your booking. A return postage bag will be provided and the parcel must be lodged over the counter at an official Post Shop, rather than placed in a mailbox or left unattended.
What is the condition of your garments?
Boutique Brags is a garment rental business, so garments may show minor signs of previous wear. Each garment is inspected and maintained between rentals to ensure it remains clean and wearable. Any known flaws, imperfections or notable signs of wear will be disclosed in the garment description where applicable.
